Supporting Businesses Program

Lithgow City Council has set aside funding during 2014/15 for the development of the Supporting Businesses Program which will deliver initiatives aimed at supporting existing businesses as well as attracting new businesses into the town centre. These initiatives will be framed and delivered into the business community in partnership with the Lithgow Business Association and other stakeholders.



Main Elements

Main elements of this program will include:

Town Centre Branding

  • Development of a unique “point of difference” brand for the Lithgow town centre that can be used for collective marketing.

Collective Marketing

  • Media advertising for retail promotions including print and electronic media

Promotional Tools

  • Development of promotional tools including a town centre facebook page and internet webpage

Retail Promotions

  • Development and delivery of a calendar of annual retail promotions at peak trading periods

Programmed Entertainment

  • Delivery of a program of entertainment in Cook St Plaza

Business Development

  • Annual program of business training including business planning, marketing, social media applications, and financial management

Business Recognition Awards

  • An annualĀ  rewards event recognising those businesses who have made outstanding contributions to the destination appeal of the town centre
